Safeguarding

At Beechview Academy, the health, safety and well-being of every child is our paramount concern. We listen to our pupils and take seriously what they tell us. Our aim is for children to enjoy their time as pupils in this school and we actively strive to look for opportunities to support them and their emotional wellbeing. To achieve happy, healthy pupils at Beechview, we want to work in partnership with our parents to help their child/ren achieve their full potential and make a positive contribution to their community.

All our staff work hard to support every child in our care and we have a rigorous recruitment process to promote a safe environment for our pupils. Our selection and recruitment policy includes all checks on staff and regular volunteers’ suitability, including DBS checks, as recommended by Buckinghamshire County Council in accordance with current legislation.

Parents and carers are welcome to read the Child Protection Policy which is located on our main policies page. Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.
