Welcome to Reception

Reception is an exciting next step in every child’s learning journey, building on the foundations developed in Nursery and helping children to build on their confidence and independence. Whether children are continuing their journey with us from our Nursery or joining us for the first time, we provide a warm, nurturing environment where every child feels welcome and ready to flourish.

As children settle into Reception, we build on their natural curiosity and love of learning through a balance of play, exploration and more focused learning experiences. Children are encouraged to ask questions, develop their ideas, learn new skills and take on new challenges, whilst being supported to grow at their own pace.

Strong, caring relationships remain at the heart of everything we do. By working closely with families and creating a sense of belonging, we ensure that every child feels safe, supported and excited to come to school each day. Our aim is for children to leave Reception as happy, confident and enthusiastic learners, ready for their transition into Year 1.
